SA Army Foundation Working for Our Members

The SA Army Foundation delivers products, services and benefits to over 40 000 members who are either currently or historically a member of the South African Defence Force (SANDF) and/or the Department of Defence (DoD), and who have a Force Number, including:

  • Members in Uniform
  • Civilian Members (PSAPs)
  • Retired Members
  • Reserve Forces
  • Veterans Members of the SAAF, SA Navy or SAMHS can also join the SA Army Foundation. Our headquarters is in Gauteng with 36 satellite offices nationwide for the convenience of our members.

From 1 July 2013 Army Foundation membership of either R80 (single) or R140 (married) per month will include the following:

  • Group Life Benefit cover of R32 345 each for main member and spouse.
  • Funeral cover of R15 000 each for main member and spouse.
  • Funeral cover for children (cover as per schedule)
  • Free membership of the Rainbow Holiday Club (4 options available)
  • Free membership of the SA Army Foundation, including discounted products and services like, iNkomo funeral provider, IT Combo, transfer fees on home loans, personal loans, wills & testaments, holiday resorts and more!

2013 Bursary winners


The SA Army Foundation and Maxi Credit Solutions wish to congratulate the two successful bursary candidates for 2012! Both these students will receive a full bursary for the entire period of their studies, including all tuition fees and text books. We wish them the best of luck with their studies!

Miss R. A. Makondo who will be studying a 4 year degree in Social Work at the University of Limpopo

Miss Z. Nemagovani will be undertaking a 4 year degree in Earth Sciences specialising in Mining at the University of Venda.

New 24 months claim period
In addition, we are delighted to announce that we have negotiated a longer claim period for our members. From 1 February 2013, our members have 24 months instead of the previous 12 months in which to submit a claim form – arguably making the SA Army Foundation the only Group Scheme in the country that offers its members a 2-year period in which to submit a claim.

Increased Group Scheme benefit

The SA Army Foundation is working hard to continuously improve and increase our range of product and services to the benefit of our members. To this effect we are very pleased to announce that from 1 April 2013, the current Group Scheme benefit will increase from R24 250 to R32 345 for a minimal increase of only R10 per person! Below is the new structure for our members' attention.
